Slow Taper

No fade line anywhere. The hair simply gets shorter as it travels down, finishing soft at the neck and temples. The grown-up option.

01 — The shape

Why it
works

A taper is not a fade with the volume turned down — it is a different idea. A fade blends between two lengths; a taper removes weight continuously so there is never a transition to see. Done properly you cannot point at where it happens.

It is the most forgiving shape we cut. At six weeks it still has a perimeter. At ten it still reads deliberate. If your calendar is unreliable, this is your cut.

We keep the natural hairline at the neck rather than squaring it off. Square necklines look sharp for four days and then look like a line.

02 — Fit

Face shapes

  • Oval
  • Oblong
  • Heart
  • Triangle

A guide, not a rule. Bone structure matters more than the outline of your face, and that is what the consultation is for.

03 — Method

Styling approach

  1. 01

Air-dry where possible — the taper wants the hair's own fall.

  2. 02

Daily cream through the lengths, nothing at the crown.

  3. 03

Skip the comb on day two; the shape improves slightly as it settles.
